Clean air for Maglaj – ecological heating project introduced

After a number of preparatory activities, we presented the project “Implementation of a district heating system in Maglaj”, which is being implemented within the framework of the Czech Republic’s foreign development cooperation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In this phase of the project, it is a question of preparing project documentation for a biomass heating plant with a heating network. The priority of the project is to take into account modern and energy-efficient environmentally friendly technologies, which will lead to a significant increase in the share of the use of renewable energy sources. The main goal of the project is to improve the living conditions of local people.

The presentation itself took place in the presence of the mayor, representatives of the city council and a large number of residents. All interested parties were introduced to the project intent and planned activities. The city emphasized the strategic importance of the project and its impact on improving the environment.

The beneficiary of the project is the city of Maglaj, the project is financed by the Czech government through the Czech Development Agency (www.czechaid.cz) and the contractor of the project documentation is Damaris Solutions. The project was launched in August this year and will be completed in November 2022.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the six priority countries of the Czech Republic’s foreign development cooperation. Development cooperation is primarily focused on the water, energy and public administration sectors.
